Children's Ministry

Nursery thru 6th Grade

Children's Ministry strives to create a safe and supportive environment for children and their parents where all are welcomed, loved, and taught about Jesus.

On Sunday Mornings

During the school year (Sept - May) we offer children's Sunday classes for children aged Pre-K through 6th grade (7th & up are part of the Student Ministry). During the summer our children's ministry teachers get a break and services are family sit-together for ages Kindergarten & up.

Once your child enters their classroom they will be greeted by trained and screened volunteers who will lead them in age appropriate gospel-centered teaching and activities. A typical Sunday morning class may include worship, snacktime, games, and free-play time depending on age. Please let your child’s teacher know if they have any food allergies, or need any accommodations.

Family Sit-Together Sundays

Our vision is to work alongside parents in raising the next generation of children who love Jesus and follow His command to make disciples. We offer our classes to assist in doing this and hope they are an added “bonus” to what you are already doing at home. During the summer, and a couple other specific times during the year, families sit together in the auditorium. We do this to offer our classroom volunteers a break, and it offers a couple of benefits for families:

Your children get to see the example you set while worshiping and listening through a service. And bonus...did you know they’re actually taking some of it in as well?

Opportunities to talk through the sermon together afterwards and answer any questions your kids may have, as well as help them process and understand what was being taught.

If your child has special needs, please contact Korene Lanxon (korenel@graceb3.org) to discuss other arrangements.

Tips and Tricks for kids during service

Children’s Ministry Activity Clipboards
These are provided each week with age appropriate activities. Check them out in the back of the auditorium.

Move & Groove During Worship
Have kids clap along to the music with you. If they feel involved they are much more likely to feel like they are a part of the service, rather than just being brought to the service.

Bible Time
Have them bring their own Bible (or use one in the auditorium) and help them find the passage that is being referenced in the sermon. They most likely won’t stay on that page but it helps reinforce the idea that we are teaching God’s word and they might just explore the Bible on their own. If you need a Bible or suggestions for a good kids Bible, please reach out to a Children’s Ministry staff member.

Quiet Toys & Activities
Bring quiet and special “only at church” activities from home. This helps make church time seem extra special! A few ideas are: lacing cards, Wikki Stix, matching games, quiet books, and snacks.

Understood Expectations
Having a conversation at home with what your expectations are beforehand can be invaluable. They are kids - things might not go perfectly and that’s ok, this is a learning experience. You don’t need to feel bad if there are noises or you need to step out for a minute with them. Grace for all! Consistency is the key.
